60,000 sets of Iftar snacks and drinks to be distributed at FairPrice stores islandwide this Ramadan

Singapore, 12 March 2024 – FairPrice Group (FPG) announced today that it will be distributing free snacks and drinks across 61 stores1 for Muslim customers to break fast during the Ramadan period from 12 March to 9 April. 

For the 16th year running, FairPrice stores will offer Muslim customers refreshments 30 minutes before and after Iftar, the meal observed after evening prayers during Ramadan. More than 60,000 sets of Iftar snacks will be distributed to facilitate the convenient breaking of fast. Each Muslim customer will receive a drink such as milk, isotonic drink or water and a snack such as dates, beef slice or biscuits which will be served by our staff in store on a while stocks last basis.

Mr Vipul Chawla, Group CEO of FairPrice Group, highlighted, “Ramadan is a time for compassion, reflection, and communal gathering, and we understand its significance for the Muslim community and Singaporeans as a whole. We are grateful for the opportunity to support our Muslim customers through our community engagement during this period and remain committed to keeping the season’s essentials within reach for all.”

FPG will also launch a range of initiatives to bring the community together this festive season, including two Hari Raya Block Parties, festive packet giveaways, mini Ramadan Bazaars in the community, a lucky draw as well as in-store and online promotions.

The Hari Raya Block Parties will be hosted at Bedok North and Bukit Batok on 20 April 2024. To enhance togetherness during Hari Raya, 300 halal bentos will be distributed at each Block Party, allowing residents to bond over a shared meal alongside other activities. Other highlights include festive games, a photo booth, food and drinks sampling. Visitors can also receive free henna painting when they spend a minimum of $20 in a single transaction at the FairPrice on Wheels truck.

Special discounts on Ramadan and Hari Raya essentials will run through till 17 April 2024, ensuring that Muslim shoppers have access to everything they need for the season’s celebrations both online and in stores. This includes promotions on 10 assortments of dates, baking essentials, cleaning supplies and Hari Raya snacks.
