SINGAPORE, 15 May 2025 –  FairPrice Group (FPG) today announced the official launch of LOTTE Mart Express at FairPrice Xtra VivoCity, a store-in-store offering shoppers a diverse range of authentic South Korean food, products, and experiences. This is the latest retail concept launch to stem from FPG’s partnership with LOTTE Shopping Co., Ltd (LOTTE Retail), first inked in August 2024. To bring the best of South Korean food to all in Singapore, selections of Lotte Mart products will also be available across 104 FairPrice Supermarkets, Finest and Xtra locations islandwide.

The LOTTE Mart Express at FairPrice Xtra VivoCity boasts a curated selection of over 700 Korean snacks, beverages, desserts and more. This includes more than 180 FairPrice exclusive products from brands such as LOTTE and its private labels including Good Today and Yorihada. The outlet also features a Korean-style photobooth for shoppers to snap photos with different themes and props, similar to those popular in South Korea.

Yorihada Kitchen, a dedicated in-store eatery serving freshly prepared Korean culinary delights, was launched together with the store to provide customers with an even more immersive Korean shopping and dining experience. The eatery serves Korean food favourites including dakgangjeong (Korean fried chicken), tteokbokki (rice cakes), Eumok (skewered fish cakes), and more. At Yorihada Kitchen, every dish is expertly prepared by FairPrice Group staff specially trained by professional Korean chefs.

Vipul Chawla, Group CEO, FairPrice Group said, “Singaporean palates today are diverse, adventurous and sophisticated. As Singapore’s largest retailer, we are committed to ensuring that our offerings meet the wide range of consumer preferences through bold, authentic flavours. As local demand for Korean food and culture continues to grow, it is our hope that the Korean products and experiences available at the new LOTTE Mart Express will make every day a little better for our customers.”

Sung-Hyun Kang., CEO of LOTTE Mart, said, “LOTTE Mart EXPRESS is a space where LOTTE’s retail and food companies synergise to deliver Korean tastes and culture. Based on over 20 years of experience in international business, we plan to successfully establish ourselves in the Singapore market and promote K-food, while positioning ourselves as a key hub for PB exports in Southeast Asia.”

Korean pop culture’s global rise in the last decade has strongly impacted Singapore, with Singaporeans being one of South Korea’s top 10 international visitor groups. This influence extends to the supermarket aisles, as Singaporeans, having learnt about and tasted Korean cuisine abroad, now seek those flavours at home. As such, Korean products consistently rank among the top 10 most sought-after categories at FairPrice supermarkets, with consumer demand steadily increasing in the last five years both in stores and online.

To celebrate the grand opening, LOTTE Mart Express will offer limited-time promotions on popular Korean products, food sampling and complimentary gifts with purchase. Through these activities, FPG and LOTTE Retail aim to provide visitors with fun and memorable experiences, in addition to the best products that Korea has to offer.
