- The three-year partnership aims to improve access to fresh groceries and daily essentials through approximately 1,200 Hao Ren Hao Shi Mobile Groceries and Happy Mart distributions
- FairPrice Group to mobilise 1,000 corporate and frontline volunteers to support monthly distributions throughout the partnership
SINGAPORE, 24 OCTOBER 2026 – FairPrice Foundation (FPF, 平价基金会), the philanthropic arm of FairPrice Group (FPG), announced today a $3 million commitment over three years to support local charity Hao Ren Hao Shi (好人好事) in bringing fresh, nutritious groceries and daily essentials to over 126,000 low-income beneficiaries across Singapore.
Through the partnership, FPF will support Hao Ren Hao Shi’s Mobile Groceries (爱心流动车) and Happy Mart (开心杂货店) initiatives across approximately 1,200 distributions. The main aim of this partnership is to improve beneficiaries’ access to nutritious food and quality essentials. FPG will also commit to mobilising 1,000 corporate and frontline volunteers to support the monthly packing and distribution runs throughout the partnership.
Beyond basic dry goods, the partnership expands access to fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, milk, and household items, such as detergent and hand soap, empowering beneficiaries with the dignity of choice to choose what they need for their household. Unity pharmacists will also participate in selected community distributions, offering complimentary blood pressure checks and basic wellness advice, providing a convenient health touchpoint for beneficiaries as they pick up their daily necessities.
Jean Khong, General Manager of FairPrice Foundation (孔丽仪,平价基金会总经理), said: “For many families, putting nutritious meals on the table while juggling rising household expenses can be challenging. At FairPrice Foundation, we believe good nutrition is a cornerstone of community well-being. This is why we support communities at different stages of life, from young children to seniors. Through our partnership with Hao Ren Hao Shi, we hope to make everyday essentials and fresh, nutritious food more accessible to families right here in our heartlands, easing some of their daily worries and helping them eat better.”
Anson Ng, Founder Chairman of Hao Ren Hao Shi (黄进国,好人好事创办人) said: “We are deeply grateful for FairPrice Foundation’s support which allows us to provide better nutrition to those in need. Beyond essential provisions, we are creating meaningful opportunities for youth and volunteers to experience the joy of giving back and build a more compassionate Singapore together.”
The Mobile Groceries distribution at Blk 158 Toa Payoh Lorong 1 on 24 October marked the start of the partnership, bringing together 100 volunteers to serve the essential needs of vulnerable households. Over 300 beneficiaries received fresh produce, eggs, milk, and daily essentials alongside a special Wellness Pack by Unity, containing a curated selection of supplements designed to support key wellness needs, such as immunity, gut health, mobility and bone health.
Madam Aisyah, a 33 years old mother who works as a call centre agent receives daily essentials through the Hao Ren Hao Shi Mobile Groceries initiative. As a mother of two young teenagers (12 and 13 years old), she shared how the monthly distributions ease her daily routine: “By the time I get home from work, I do not have much time to cook for my children, so I prepare meals in advance to make sure they get a healthy dinner. Having the grocery truck come to our block takes a huge load off my monthly budget.”
Madam Low (刘月嫦), an 80 years old beneficiary of the Mobile Groceries initiative said: “As I live alone, I will collect groceries such as eggs, bread, rice and oil to supplement my daily cooking. As I have been retired working for many years, this initiative helps me to save money and I also get to catch up with my neighbours during the distributions”.
Mr Lim (林贵春), 71 years old who lives with his wife in a rental flat in Toa Payoh shared: “I’ve been receiving daily essentials from the Mobile Groceries initiative for the past eight years. My wife cooks daily so being able to collect produce such as vegetables and eggs really help to ease our grocery budget”.
FPF’s partnership with Hao Ren Hao Shi is the latest in its portfolio of programmes to improve nutrition access and education for vulnerable groups across all stages of life. Other programmes by FPF include:
