FairPrice Foundation brings festive cheer to families in need with Chinese New Year care packs filled with healthy and nutritious festive essentials

  • More than 3,300 families and individuals to receive Chinese New Year (CNY) care packs filled with festive essentials such as fresh eggs, vegetables, mandarin oranges and more
  • CNY care packs worth more than $60,000 to be distributed to beneficiaries across 22 community partners supported by FairPrice Group volunteers throughout 15 days of CNY

SINGAPORE, 16 February 2026 – FairPrice Foundation (FPF) is improving access to nutritious essentials for families in need this Chinese New Year (CNY). More than 3,300 beneficiaries across Singapore will receive care packs packed with fresh eggs, fruits and vegetables this festive season.

From 4 to 26 February 2026, more than 50 volunteers from FairPrice Group (FPG) will participate in the packing and distribution of these nutritious care packs. These care packs will be distributed to beneficiaries across 22 community partners such as The Salvation Army Peacehaven Nursing Home, Canossaville Children and Community Services and Montfort Care.

This CNY’s festive care pack distribution builds on FPF’s broader commitment to address nutrition gaps among vulnerable communities. By including fresh protein and produce in the care packs, FPF ensures that support goes beyond seasonal gifting to meaningfully contribute to families’ daily nutritional needs. The initiative is an extension of FairPrice Foundation’s Protein Pledge: a commitment to distribute S$1 million worth of fresh protein to vulnerable communities across the island by 2030, launched in March 2025.

Jean Khong, General Manager, FairPrice Foundation said, “We know that many in Singapore, especially the underprivileged among us, want to provide their families and loved ones with nutritious meals. This Chinese New Year, we have incorporated fresh protein and produce so that families will be able to enjoy nutritious additions to their meals and celebrate the festive season with a little extra warmth and joy.”

CNY Care Pack Distribution and Engagement With Beneficiaries

Project Pencil and Hao Ren Hao Shi are amongst the 22 community partners that have been receiving fresh eggs and the CNY care packs from FPF through the Protein Pledge. Madam Sarimah Amat, founder of Project Pencil said, “It is a truly uplifting partnership that has provided more than 150 of our beneficiaries with a vital boost to their protein intake. For our elderly and children, protein is especially crucial for their long term health. We are grateful for this partnership and the real, positive change it is bringing.”

In addition to distributing care packs, FPG volunteers will also visit seniors at Xin Yuan ComCare Ltd (Toa Payoh) and Goodlife Makan (Marine Terrace) to celebrate CNY together. Volunteers and seniors will enjoy festive games and songs alongside the distribution of care packs. These visits are part of FPF’s ongoing efforts in strengthening community welfare and engagement, fostering meaningful connections and support for seniors across Singapore during the festive season.

To support customers in preparing for their festive celebrations, FPG also announced a price freeze on all of its chilled pork, popular seafood and vegetables from 29 January to 3 March 2026. Exclusive promotions on popular vegetables will also run during the same period. In addition, FPG will extend opening hours across FairPrice stores islandwide during this CNY season including 156 out of 168 FairPrice stores to remain open on the first day of CNY.
