Our Community Engagement Highlights
Our Community Engagement Pillars
Through our community partners, we support over one million beneficiaries with food donation drives and nutritious meal deliveries. Our key initiatives include A Full Plate—Singapore’s largest donation drive—along with the CHAS Blue and Orange discount schemes, help ensure daily essentials and fresh, nutritious produce are kept within reach for all in the community. Through these efforts, we aim to build more nutrition-resilient communities across Singapore.
Taking an upstream approach, we nurture strong communities through a focus on nutrition and sustainability education. Our signature initiatives include the Start Strong Stay Strong nutrition education programme for pre-schoolers and the Neighbourhood Food Share initiative which rallies the community to reduce food waste and champion food circularity. Through these efforts, we aim to keep nutrition accessible for all and empower families to make choices that are better for their health and for the planet.
We are committed to uplifting vulnerable workers across all industries, ages, and backgrounds—fostering an inclusive society where no one is left behind. From providing 50-cents coffee and tea during May Day to organising regular distribution of protein such as eggs as part of our Protein Pledge, we support their wellbeing through access to nutritious, affordable food.

Driving impact with FairPrice Foundation
Established in 2008, FairPrice Foundation is the philanthropic arm of FairPrice Group. The Foundation focuses its giving on three strategic priorities- ensuring food security for the poor and needy, strengthening community welfare and engagement in nutrition education and sustainability education, and supporting workers’ welfare, especially when it comes to everything food.
Tackling Food Waste with Neighbourhood Food Share Initiative
We take steps to ensure that imperfect produce does not go to waste. Instead of throwing these fruits and vegetables away and contributing to one of Singapore’s biggest waste streams, we give imperfect edibles a second life through the Neighbourhood Food Share Initiative.
Pledging $1 million worth of fresh protein to nourish communities
With the Protein Pledge, FairPrice Foundation has committed $1 million over the next 5 years, ensuring that everyone, from growing children to active adults and thriving seniors, has access to nutritious protein sources.
Ushering in Festive Seasons with Community Block Parties
More fun, food, and giveaways are on the table with FairPrice Group’s family-friendly Community Block Parties, a community engagement initiative established in 2023. Block Parties foster strong community bonds by bringing together residents and families during festive periods such as Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Deepavali, and Christmas.
Giving Back to the Community with Day of Service
In the spirit of giving back, we launched FairPrice Group’s Day of Service employee volunteering programme in 2023, to give our employees the opportunity to support the vulnerable and serve those in need.

Mr. Low Seng Huan, fondly known as Bob, left a lasting impression on the FairPrice Group team during our recent Chinese New Year (CNY) visit to Ren Ci Hospital at Ang Mo Kio. A simple visit may seem small, but for extraordinary individuals like Bob, it means the world. The team shared special moments, and the delightful performances by NTUC First Campus kids filled Ren Ci with festive joy, bringing smiles to its residents.

Madam Gaya and Aunty Lim – Neighbourhood Food Share Initiative
Caring for her husband after his stroke and looking after their kids is not an easy balancing act for Mdm Gaya Rujake, especially with the added stress of school fees. Meanwhile, Aunty Lim has had to face her own challenges after her elderly mother’s passing. Adjusting to living alone has its ups and downs too.

Since we were set up by the labour movement in 1973, our philosophy has been to do well by doing good. This twin goal of purpose and profit has guided us in our community engagement and philanthropic efforts, which aim to not just support the community but also empower people for the long-term. We do this through keeping essentials within reach and cultivating a strong core of community support.
Our initiatives benefit vulnerable communities who may have issues accessing or affording basic needs, such as lower-income families and the poor and needy.
By redistributing resources to where they are most needed, we also promote a circular economy and help to reduce the collective carbon footprint.

Pre-loved textbooks can be donated at selected FairPrice stores around Singapore during the donation drive period. The donated textbooks will then be sorted by volunteers before the distribution drive.
