SINGAPORE, 17 January 2017 – NTUC FairPrice (FairPrice) will extend the operating hours of its stores islandwide to cater to increased traffic during the Lunar New Year (LNY) festive season. This year, 25 stores will remain open throughout the Lunar New Year break (28 and 29 January) while 83 stores islandwide will operate for 24 hours on the day before the eve of the Lunar New Year (26 January) to cater to last minute grocery shopping needs.
From Thursday onwards, the week leading up to LNY, 57 stores will stay open for an additional one to two hours, closing only at 11pm and 12am. This is in addition to 62 stores that operate for 24 hours.
Mr Seah Kian Peng, CEO of NTUC FairPrice, said, “The community looks to FairPrice to provide groceries and festive needs to complement their celebrations with family and friends. We expect customer traffic to increase at our stores and as a retailer who is here to make lives better, we will extend our operating hours to make it more convenient for shoppers as well as cater to the festive demand. FairPrice has 140 stores in various formats islandwide, including 61 stores that operate for 24 hours a day throughout the year.
Normal operating hours will resume on 30 Jan.
FairPrice On will continue deliveries until 6pm on 27 January, and there will be no deliveries available on the first day of the Lunar New Year. Deliveries will resume on 29 January.
