• The FairPrice Pioneer Generation (PG) Discount Scheme will be extended for another year at all FairPrice supermarkets and hypermarkets island-wide
• Since its launch in 2014, the scheme has enabled Pioneer Generation members to save over $11.5 million, of which over $4.5 million was disbursed this year  

SINGAPORE, 28 December 2017 – NTUC FairPrice (FairPrice) announced today that it will be extending its Pioneer Generation (PG) Discount scheme for another year, until 31 December 2018. This will be the third time that FairPrice has extended the year-long initiative for members of the Pioneer Generation^[1]. The scheme has disbursed more than $11.5 million in discounts to PG members to date since it was introduced in October 2014.

The PG Discount scheme has been very well received and we remain committed to serving the needs of our pioneers by providing greater savings for them to stretch their dollar further. Beyond this, we hope this initiative continues to inspire the community to join us in honouring and showing appreciation to our pioneers for their hard work and dedication in helping to build Singapore to what it is today.”

Savings disbursed through the PG Discount scheme this year amounted to over $4.5 million, an increase of over 40 percent compared to the year before. The PG Discount scheme was enhanced in the beginning of this year to include Thursdays, in addition to Mondays, where PG members may enjoy a three percent discount when they shop at all FairPrice supermarket and hypermarket outlets. This initiative complements the Seniors’ Discount Scheme, which sees all shoppers above the age of 60 enjoy a two percent discount on Tuesdays.

Beyond savings, PG members also enjoy priority queuing at designated PG priority payment counters available at all stores, which encourage customers to be gracious and allow PG members to move ahead of the queue while making payment.

To enjoy the PG Discount and priority queuing, PG members need to present their PG card, provided as part of the Pioneer Generation Package from the government, at cashier counters at all FairPrice supermarkets, FairPrice Shop stores, FairPrice Finest outlets, and FairPrice Xtra hypermarkets.
