NTUC FairPrice’s convenience store arm, FairPrice Xpress and Cheers today announced a new collaboration with DHL Express Singapore, to provide greater convenience to customers at selected outlets island-wide. For the first time in Singapore, this new network of DHL SERVICEPOINT offers easy drop-off locations for customers to send their packages abroad.

“As a growing convenience retail chain, FairPrice Xpress and Cheers pride ourselves in constantly innovating and upgrading our services, to provide convenience and value added services to our customers. This new collaboration to offer DHL SERVICEPOINT at FairPrice Xpress and Cheers will further enhance our promise to bring convenience to our customers,” said Mr Seah Kian Peng, Managing Director (Group Business), NTUC FairPrice.

DHL SERVICEPOINT provides easy drop-off locations for customers, to deposit outbound international express documents and parcels from Singapore – for both DHL account customers and walk-in customers. With a wide network of convenient locations island-wide, customers can now easily access DHL SERVICEPOINT at any of the 12 selected FairPrice Xpress and Cheers outlets during the initial roll-out of this new service.

“DHL Express Singapore continuously seeks out opportunities to offer innovative services and convenience to our customers. By strategically partnering FairPrice Xpress and Cheers to introduce DHL SERVICEPOINT at their outlets, we are able to leverage on their extensive network to reach out to our customers, offering them greater accessibility to our services,” said Mr Herbert Vongpusanachai, Country Manager, DHL Express Singapore.

FairPrice Xpress at Chua Chu Kang Way is also the latest FairPrice Xpress outlet to be upgraded into a 24-hour Drive-thru Grocery Mart, offering customers the ease of grocery shopping on-the-go. The 24-hour grocery mart will offer a wider assortment of products including a larger variety of fresh produce, groceries, car care products and accessories.

Mr Seah also commented, “We believe in bringing products and services that our customers need, right to their doorstep. With this new store concept, we are able to offer our customers a one-stop destination where they can fill-up their vehicles while having access to a much larger assortment of products including everyday grocery items and fresh produce while on-the-go.”

Apart from foodstuff commonly available at convenience stores, the new FairPrice Xpress store at the Esso Station along Chua Chu Kang Way also offers about 300 more product varieties, a large portion of which will include fresh produce such as fruits, vegetables, frozen meat and premium cheese. In line with customers’ changing lifestyles and greater need for convenience, the grocery mart will feature a selection of ready-to-cook meals and pre-packaged vegetables.

Currently, there are 137 Cheers and FairPrice Xpress outlets located island-wide. Of these, 66 of them are located at Esso service stations, as part of the FairPrice-ExxonMobil Alliance that was rolled out in 2005.

Commenting on the Alliance, Ms Geraldine Chin, ExxonMobil Retail Manager for South-east Asia, Hong Kong and PRC, said, “ExxonMobil recognises what it takes for our customers to refuel, refresh and re-energise. And this Alliance with NTUC FairPrice has allowed us to provide a better and wider range of products and services to our customers. We continue to enhance our customers’ experiences at Esso service stations through the growing number of convenience services we provide, such as SpeedPass payments, ATMs and hot food offers.”
