• Public can donate gifts at 14 FairPrice locations
• For the first time, FairPrice Online offered as donation point
• This project aims to collect enough household items and gifts for over 28,000 beneficiaries

For the 8th consecutive year, NTUC FairPrice will once again be supporting The Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box (BBSGB) by donating S$30,000 and offering its network of selected outlets spread across Singapore for the public to make donations from 28 November to 19 December this year. As the biggest sponsor, NTUC FairPrice will also be absorbing the logistical costs of setting up the Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift box collection points at all 14 FairPrice locations.

For the first time, NTUC FairPrice will also offer its online services to make it more convenient for shoppers to donate. The public is invited to make online donations by purchasing hampers for this project on www.fairprice.com.sg. The hampers will contain a variety of basic necessities and are valued at S$20, S$30 and S$50 (inclusive of GST).

At the launch of BBSGB 2008, NTUC FairPrice will be the first to donate 14 trolley loads of gifts containing basic necessities to the BBSGB project.

With the economic downturn, the less fortunate need even more assistance. We appeal to our shoppers to continue to donate to BBSGB to bring a smile to those in need.”

This year, BBSGB hopes to collect food and household items for over 28,000 beneficiaries. Last year, over 18,000 beneficiaries received gifts through BBSGB.

A Sharity Wish Tree will also be installed at the Ang Mo Kio Hub FairPrice Xtra branch, during the donation period, where the public are invited to help fulfill 500 wishes for the needy. Members of the public can select the wish they decide to fulfill from the wish tags attached to the Sharity Tree.
