NTUC FairPrice is helping to drive Singapore Red Cross China Earthquake Appeal for donations to help the victims rebuild their homes and lives. FairPrice is offering its network of more than 200 stores across Singapore for the public to make donations. To date, this is the widest network of donation points for the Singapore Red Cross China earthquake fundraising effort.

To kick-start the donation drive, NTUC FairPrice will be giving $20,000 towards the China earthquake relief effort. Tomorrow (23 May), senior management and staff from FairPrice will lead the donation drive at FairPrice Xtra at AMK.

NTUC FairPrice Managing Director (Singapore) Mr Seah Kian Peng said: “We are deeply saddened by the tragedy and the loss of lives in Sichuan. We feel for the victims of the Sichuan earthquake and we want to do our part to help. By making the Red Cross Donation Tins available across our island-wide retail network, we hope to make it more convenient for the public to show their concern and make their contributions towards the relief efforts.”

Mr Christopher Chua, Secretary General of the Singapore Red Cross, said: “We appreciate FairPrice’s initiative to make available their network of stores for the convenience of donors to make their contributions.”

Donation tins/boxes will be available from 23 May till June 14 across all FairPrice Xtra, FairPrice Finest, FairPrice supermarkets, FairPrice Xpress and Cheers convenience stores. FairPrice Plus customers can also make donations via Internet Banking on www.fairpriceplus.com or call 1800-8202020.
