FairPrice Foundation today announced its ‘Lend a Hand, Give a Heart’ project aimed at providing relief to needy workers during these difficult times. The project was officially launched by Guest of Honour NTUC Secretary-General and Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Mr Lim Swee Say, at FairPrice Xtra Jurong Point II.

The community is called upon to support this project by pledging a “helping hand” at three participating FairPrice stores as well as through the newly-launched FairPrice Foundation website. From 24th to 26th April, FairPrice Foundation will donate $100 to the NTUC U Care Fund for each “helping hand” pledge received, up to a total of $3 million. The Foundation hopes to receive 30,000 pledges to meet this target.

Mr John Lim, Deputy Chairman of NTUC FairPrice, said, “As part of the labour movement, FairPrice is committed to play our part in contributing to the U Care Fund. Through this project, FairPrice Foundation targets to contribute up to $3 million. It is in challenging times like this that we find strength in unity and compassion. FairPrice Foundation hopes to engage the community in sharing with our mission of providing a better life for those in need by pledging your support for this project.”

The three participating stores involved in this three-day initiative are FairPrice Xtra hypermarkets at Ang Mo Kio and Jurong Point and FairPrice’s supermarket at Tampines Mall. Additionally, to make this initiative accessible to all Singaporeans, pledges can also be made through the FairPrice Foundation website at www.fairpricefoundation.org
