Mr Seah Kian Peng, Managing Director (Group Business), NTUC FairPrice, said, “We are honoured that our customers continue to place their trust in FairPrice’s products and services. NTUC FairPrice has indeed come a long way from our first grocery store in Toa Payoh 36 years ago to being the largest and most trusted supermarket chain. This achievement is possible only with the strong support of our customers and members through the years. We will continue to innovate and upgrade our stores. More importantly, we will strive to provide our customers with even greater value, in terms of quality products, good prices and delightful customer service”.

This is the third year that NTUC FairPrice has been awarded the Platinum Award for the supermarket chains in Singapore category (2006, 2008, 2009). NTUC FairPrice also clinched the Gold Award for the supermarket chain category in 2007.

Customers have also placed their trust in FairPrice housebrand products. FairPrice housebrand cooking oils bag the Gold Award for cooking oil for the second time (2008 & 2009). For the first time, FairPrice housebrand range of rice also bags the Gold Award. Currently, there are 15 types of FairPrice cooking oils and a range of 12 FairPrice rice to cater to the different tastes and budget of our customers.

Mr Seah added, “FairPrice housebrand products carry the hallmark of the FairPrice brand promise to deliver quality products at best value. We work closely with the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) to ensure all housebrand products meet stringent quality standards. We also have an internal quality assurance system which includes factory audits and regular product reviews to provide added assurance of product safety and quality.”
