NTUC FairPrice and Grab launch SCORE Subscription Programme to provide better value for the community

NTUC FairPrice and Grab in talks with more partners to provide benefits across diverse suite of products and service

SINGAPORE, 19 March 2018 – Singapore’s largest supermarket chain, NTUC FairPrice (FairPrice), and Southeast Asia’s leading on-demand transportation and fintech platform, Grab, today officially launched the SCORE Subscription Programme. The programme leverages each organisation’s strengths to offer the community better cost savings and convenience on key necessities, including groceries and transportation.

The launch of SCORE was graced by Mr Chan Chun Sing, Secretary-General of the National Trade Union Congress, where he highlighted the role of organisations such as NTUC FairPrice and Grab in remaining relevant in today’s disruptive economy, while collaborating to cast a wider net in providing better value and making lives better for the community.

Catering to Changing Needs

The SCORE Subscription Programme was developed after a survey[1] conducted with over 1,000 customers between the ages of 20 to 40 years old reflected potential in the market for such a service. Key results from the survey included groceries (69 per cent) and transport (54 per cent) listed as the top two services[2] that respondents wanted to enjoy benefits on from a subscription service. Almost all survey respondents (95 per cent) also expressed openness to signing up for subscription services.

Both FairPrice and Grab currently serve an extensive pool of customers – FairPrice serves over 600,000 customers daily in Singapore and Grab has over 86 million mobile app downloads regionally.

Benefits of SCORE Subscription Programme

The SCORE Subscription Programme brings together benefits exclusive to FairPrice and Grab, to offer subscribers a suite of savings and benefits including:

1. Five per cent LinkPoints rebate for incremental spends above S$100 in a single receipt at FairPrice, FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra, Unity Pharmacies and/or Warehouse Club (capped at S$5 per transaction).1. Take four rides to receive 20 per cent off rides for the rest of the calendar month (capped at S$4 per ride, up to 30 redemptions per month).
2. One free FairPrice Online Delivery per month with no minimum spend.For one day each month, receive 50 per cent off all Grab rides (capped at S$6 per ride, up to five redemptions per day).
3. Complimentary Plus! Membership (worth S$10, applicable if subscribers are not an existing Plus! Member).3. Special members-only access to exclusive Grab events. For example, last year, Grab hosted a Star Wars: The Last Jedi private movie screening for a select group of customers.
4. Free 1,000 LinkPoints for new subscribers and subscription renewals.
5. Free access to Warehouse Club (worth S$20 per year)

A consumer who takes a S$15 Grab ride to and from work on weekdays would already save S$102 each month, and S$1,224 each year. The same consumer who shops for S$200 worth of groceries and/or personal care products once a fortnight at FairPrice, FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra, Unity Pharmacies and/or Warehouse Club will save another S$130 each year.

The SCORE Subscription Programme is priced at S$29.99 for the first year, and S$49.99 from the second year of subscription. A limited time offer of S$18 is now available for first-year subscription till 18 May 2018.
