51 FairPrice stores will open up till midnight in the week leading up to the Lunar New Year
Singapore, 10 January 2020 – NTUC FairPrice today announced that 114 stores across the island will be kept open on the first day of Lunar New Year (LNY), while 51 stores will operate until midnight from 15 January (Wednesday) onwards, leading up to the LNY period, to offer more access and greater convenience to festive and daily essentials this festive season.
Mr Seah Kian Peng, Group CEO of FairPrice Group, said, “Being available to serve customers over the Lunar New Year helps consumers have convenient access to festive essentials and daily groceries. By extending our operating hours, shoppers have greater flexibility to shop at their convenience and this also helps to alleviate the expected high customer traffic at our stores. With the bulk of our stores open, we can continue to better serve shoppers of all ethnicities. This is only possible because of the sacrifices, efforts and hard work of our staff for which we are most appreciative and grateful for. Here is wishing everyone a happy and prosperous New Year.”
In catering to the needs of consumers for last-minute shopping on the eve of LNY (24 January), 123 stores will open till 5pm and 24 stores will operate at their usual 24 hours. On the second day of LNY (26 January), 147 FairPrice stores will open as per usual, and regular operating hours will resume across all 148 supermarkets on the third day of LNY (27 January).
Over the LNY period between 24 to 26 January, FairPrice Online will continue deliveries between 8am to 6pm. Regular delivery timings will resume on 27 January.
