Singapore, 31 May 2014 – Customers at NTUC FairPrice’s (FairPrice) branch at City Square Mall were treated to the romantic sight of lifestyle blogger, Mr Smith Leong, 30, and his fiancée, a teacher in her twenties, as they walked down the supermarket aisles for their pre-wedding photo shoot this morning.

In 2013, over 30 couples held their wedding shoots at FairPrice stores – more than double compared to the previous year.

Mr Jonas Kor, Corporate Communications Director, NTUC FairPrice, shared, “FairPrice has been part of the community for over 40 years and has journeyed alongside Singaporeans as they go through different stages of their lives. We have continued to serve them through their childhood, school days, marriage, and twilight years. We are delighted that many couples found love while shopping with us and are only too happy to have them share these precious moments with us.”

For Mr Leong and his fiancée, their shopping experience in the homegrown supermarket left such an indelible mark on them that they decided to have their pre-wedding photo shoot at their favourite dating haunt, the FairPrice supermarket at City Square mall. Mr Leong runs a lifestyle blog, www.Smithankyou.com, which discusses various topics ranging from music, social media trends to sports.

Mr Leong said, “We wanted our photo shoot to be real and to capture things that we do together as a couple. We are both quite homely people and really enjoy spending quality time together such as cooking our meals together. Seeing elderly couples buying groceries together at FairPrice also gives us a glimpse of what we will look like in the years to come.”

The most popular store for wedding shoots last year was at FairPrice Finest located at 100AM, which was officially launched in December 2012.
