  • Greater convenience for customers

Customers of FairPrice Xpress and Cheers can now pay their bills at 145 FairPrice Xpress and Cheers stores island-wide any time of the day. This new over-the-counter AXS Station QuickBill service is FairPrice Xpress’ and Cheers’ latest collaboration with AXS.

Catered for busy on-the-go young working professionals and motorists, FairPrice Xpress and Cheers will enable one to pay their bills at a greater number of locations island-wide. The AXS Station QuickBill service is now available at 145 FairPrice Xpress and Cheers stores, of which over 60 stores are located at Esso Service Stations. With the stores operating with a 24-hour format, customers can enjoy the advantage of making their bill payments while shopping for groceries, grabbing a quick snack or refueling their vehicles at any time of the day.

“We constantly seek to improve our services and look for innovative ways to enhance every customer’s experience. We recognise that today, convenience and efficiency are what our customers look for and AXS Station QuickBill offers customers another level of service. Our exclusive partnership with AXS will provide an additional platform for customers to minimise their bill payment hassles,” said Mr Victor Cheong, General Manager, Cheers Holdings.

The AXS Station QuickBill was piloted in early January and was fully deployed across FairPrice Xpress and Cheers stores in February. This tie-up offers customers the most comprehensive bill payment services over counter with nine categories that include credit cards, insurance, club memberships, town councils, healthcare, loans, condo/building, fines and general (telco subscriptions and utilities) bills. Cash and ATM cards payments can be made simply by presenting the original bills at the counters or providing their billing information to ensure the correct bill account and amount is paid. Two receipts will then be immediately issued over the counter for both Cash and ATM cards transactions, with payment processed within two working days. As a progressive and innovative retailer, NTUC FairPrice constantly seeks to cater to diverse customer needs through various partnerships that offer innovative solutions and provide greater accessibility to customers. In 2009, FairPrice Xpress and Cheers collaborated with DHL Express Singapore to be the first in Singapore to provide a “Drop Box” courier service providing customers with easy drop-off locations at selected outlets to send their packages abroad.

About AXS

Incorporated in 2000, AXS Pte Ltd (“AXS”) is a leading solution provider and operator of an “Electronic Service Delivery Network” (“ESDN”), a delivery platform (with various access points to consumers) that allows organisations to reach out to their target audience via e-applications or web services.

AXS launched its own ESDN (“AXS Network”) with the “AXS Station” terminals as the access points to the public. Today, with over 770 AXS Stations island-wide, it has grown to become Singapore’s largest transactional (broadband) terminal network, providing e-services from over 120 private and government organisations.

Since September 2006, AXS has become a subsidiary of DBS. This change in corporate structure provides increased stability and resources for network expansion and support.
