NTUC FairPrice announced today that face masks, including N95 face masks, will be restocked and available at all 115 FairPrice supermarkets, FairPrice Finest and FairPrice Xtra hypermarkets from tomorrow onwards. A fresh consignment of face masks has since arrived over the weekend from various suppliers and the Ministry of Health (MOH).
In fulfilling its social mission to moderate the cost of living, the face masks are affordably priced to curb profiteering and to set benchmark prices.
Mr Seah Kian Peng, CEO of NTUC FairPrice said, “We share the concerns of Singaporeans over the haze, which have at times, reached hazardous levels. We have been working closely with the Ministry of Health and our suppliers to provide face masks that are affordably priced for our customers. To ensure that we are able to provide for as many households as possible during this period, we will be limiting the number of face masks that each person is able to purchase. We urge our customers to only purchase what they need for their personal use so that everyone who needs a face mask may be able to have one.”
FairPrice will limit purchase of N95 face masks to 10 pieces per person. Additionally, purchase of 3-ply and 4-ply surgical face masks in 50-piece boxes will also be limited to one box per person. There will be no purchase limit imposed on surgical face masks in smaller packs.
Mr Seah added, “We will continue to source for more face masks overseas and locally to provide for our customers. NTUC FairPrice will play our part so that together, we will get through the haze problem as a nation and be the stronger for it.”
