In support of the nation-wide anti-dengue campaign, NTUC FairPrice has initiated a host of actions to wage war against dengue among its customers and staff.

For a start, a range of more than 20 anti-mosquito related products will go on special offer at all FairPrice stores, from tomorrow until end-November 2005. The discounts range from about 10% to 20%. The offer items include insecticide sprays, insect repellents and electric mosquito traps.

To promote public awareness, anti-dengue posters, pamphlets and products will be prominently displayed in “Anti Mozzies Alert” corners at more than 30 FairPrice stores.

The FairPrice Health and Wellness Committee has also swung into action to heighten awareness among the 5,000 FairPrice staff. FairPrice employees can look forward to daily email blasts providing key tips and reminders on dengue prevention and control. This series of daily tips will culminate in a staff quiz with prizes to be won. In addition, to rally staff support for the nation-wide campaign, FairPrice will also put up anti-dengue posters at staff notice boards and distribute pamphlets to all staff.

Mr Tan Kian Chew, Chief Executive Officer of NTUC FairPrice, said, “With our wide network of stores, we recognize that FairPrice can play a part in this national campaign against dengue. By promoting awareness among our customers and staff, and making anti-mosquito products available to them at affordable prices, we hope to support the Government in its efforts to keep dengue at bay.”
