NTUC FairPrice increases number of stores with extended opening hours during Lunar New Year; over 90 FairPrice stores to operate 24-hours the day before reunion dinner

25 FairPrice stores remain open throughout the Lunar New Year break, an increase from 21 last year.
92 stores will operate 24 hours on 6 February, an increase from 60 stores last year which remained opened the day before the eve of Lunar New Year.

SINGAPORE, 29 January 2016 – NTUC FairPrice (FairPrice) will be extending the operating hours of its stores leading up to the Lunar New Year, to cater to demand for groceries and provide greater convenience. This year, a total of 25 FairPrice stores will remain open throughout the Lunar New Year period, compared to 21 stores last year. In addition, a total of 92 stores will operate 24 hours on the day before the eve of Lunar New Year (6 February), to cater to shoppers buying last minute necessities in preparation for reunion dinner, traditionally held on Lunar New Year’s eve.

Mr Seah Kian Peng, CEO (Singapore) of NTUC FairPrice, said, “FairPrice constantly strives to cater to the various needs of the community. We are pleased to be part of the Lunar New Year festive celebrations with our customers each year. By increasing the number of stores that remain open during such occasions, we ensure that customers can continue to have access to daily essentials and festive-related items conveniently.”

FairPrice has 132 stores in various formats island-wide, including 59 FairPrice stores that operate 24 hours a day throughout the year. From 30 January to 5 February, all 24-hour stores and an additional store will operate round-the-clock, while 58 FairPrice stores will be extending their opening hours till as late as midnight. Normal operating hours will resume on the third day of the Lunar New Year (10 Feb) 

FairPrice Online will continue operating until 7 February, and there will be no deliveries available on the first and second day of the Lunar New Year, after which deliveries will resume on 10 February.
