NTUC FairPrice Foundation extends support to Ren Ci Hospital with donation of S$600,000

  • Donation to Ren Ci Hospital will be spread over 3 years to help provide quality nursing and medical care for its residents

NTUC FairPrice (FairPrice) Foundation has extended its support to Ren Ci Hospital with a cash donation of S$600,000. The total sum is paid out to Ren Ci Hospital over a three-year period. This donation will goes towards helping Ren Ci Hospital to provide quality nursing and medical care for its residents. The cheque presentation ceremony was held at Ren Ci Nursing Home, where FairPrice volunteers have been befriending patients from Ren Ci over the past year.

“FairPrice Foundation continues our support for Ren Ci’s efforts in providing quality nursing and medical care for the less fortunate,” said Mr Tan Kian Chew, Director for NTUC FairPrice Foundation and Group CEO for NTUC FairPrice, reaffirming the foundation’s support for Ren Ci Hospital, “Strong and consistent customer support for FairPrice over the years have enabled us to do more good for the community. We are pleased to be able to lend a helping hand to Ren Ci so that they can continue their meaningful work to help those who are in need.”

FairPrice is also involved in volunteering activities with Ren Ci Nursing Home over the past year. This includes various patient befriender activities, performances for the patients as well as gardening. In the past month, FairPrice volunteers have been working with Ren Ci’s patients in landscaping the nursing home by planting flowering plants, herbs and vegetables.

“Ren Ci Hospital needs to raise more than S$3 million a year to maintain its operations. The donation from FairPrice Foundation will enable the hospital to continue its mission to provide quality healthcare for the needy sick.” said Mr Chua Thian Poh, Chairman of Ren Ci Hospital.

FairPrice Foundation had previously donated $500,000 to help Ren Ci’s residents in 2010. Since 2008, FairPrice Foundation has donated more than $32 million to the community.
