NTUC FairPrice CEO re-elected to Board of Directors of the global Consumer Goods Forum (CGF)

Singapore, 28 June 2017 – NTUC FairPrice (FairPrice) Chief Executive Officer, Mr Seah Kian Peng, has been re-elected to the global Board of Directors of The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF). The CGF Board comprises CEOs of globally renowned consumer goods retailers and manufacturers; Mr Seah is the only Singaporean and among one of six CEOs from Asia to sit on the global board.

The re-appointment of Mr Seah to the CGF board, for a two-year term, demonstrates FairPrice’s continued standing as an organisation that contributes to intra-industry development in the consumer goods sector. FairPrice has held a position in the Board of Directors of CGF since 2006.

The appointment took place at CGF’s 61st Global Summit in Berlin, Germany from 22 to 24 June 2017. The Board of Directors governs CGF, which brings together international consumer goods manufacturers and retailers to pursue business practices for efficiency and positive change across the industry, to benefit consumers across the globe.

As a global, parity-based industry network, CGF brings together the top management of some 400 retailers, manufacturers, service providers, across 70 countries which have combined sales of EUR 3.5 trillion (SGD 5.5 trillion), with its members employing nearly 10 million people worldwide. Its mission is to pursue business practices for efficiency and positive change across the industry, benefitting shoppers, consumers and the world.
