NTUC FairPrice has given its popular wine pairing application a contemporary facelift and new features to provide added convenience for customers. Besides getting wine recommendations, shoppers can now access tips, videos and notes by wine experts. The application also features a social media function where users can share their wine preferences through social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Users can also choose to pre-order in bulk online with payment on delivery.

Ms Christina Lim, Director, Brand & Marketing, NTUC FairPrice, said, “As a customer-focused retailer, we are always looking to better engage today’s consumer. Through our enhanced FairPrice wine pairing app, we hope to add greater value by meeting the growing need of consumers for information on- the-go, and enriching their shopping experience on different digital platforms. We designed this app to help our customers make more informed decisions when shopping for wine and to enhance their appreciation for wine.”

FairPrice first introduced the FairPrice Wine App in September 2010, which gave shoppers wine pairing recommendations for popular Singaporean dishes rather than European dishes unlike most of the other applications available in the market. Users can find a suitable wine to pair with their favourite foods such as chilli mud crab, mutton murtabak and fish teochew style. They can also use the application to search for popular or value-for-money wine recommendations available at FairPrice. The app was downloaded over 4,000 times.

The new FairPrice Wine App is available for download on iPhone and Android. The application can also be accessed from the That’s My FairPrice Facebook page and at www.whatsupatfairprice.com.sg. Existing subscribers can also visit these sites to download the new application.

FairPrice is one of the biggest distributors of wine in Singapore, with a wide selection of wines with labels from Australia, California, Chile, France, South Africa and more available at the supermarkets, FairPrice Xtra and wine cellars at FairPrice Finest. Wine lovers can also sign up for FairPrice’s Just Wine Club to enjoy benefits such as discounts and other privileges. Customers can purchase wine at major FairPrice supermarkets, FairPrice Finest and FairPrice Xtra stores islandwide.
