• FairPrice Group and its strategic partners jointly commit to donate up to S$240,000 to the Community Chest to support over 100 social service agencies. 
• Sales for over 50 products from over 20 FMCG brands at all FairPrice outlets from 8 to 22 December will go towards this initiative.

SINGAPORE, 8 December 2022 – FairPrice Group, in collaboration with its strategic partners, has committed to a donation of up to S$240,000 to Community Chest through the annual Heartstrings Buy initiative. The funds will be channelled to more than 100 social service agencies under Community Chest, empowering the vulnerable such as adults with disabilities, children with special needs, youths-at-risk, persons with mental health conditions, and seniors and families in need of assistance.

Mr Vipul Chawla, Group Chief Executive Officer of FairPrice Group, said, “During this season of sharing and giving, it is only apt that we collaborate with our strategic partners to do our part to provide some financial respite to the beneficiaries of Community Chest, especially those most affected by the pressures of the rising cost of living. Beyond this, we hope this will also ignite the spirit of giving with other corporations and the community at large and encourage others to do more good during and beyond this festive period.”

The Heartstrings Buy initiative will run from 8 to 22 December 2022 where up to S$140,000 of sales from over 50 participating items across over 20 fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) brands sold at all FairPrice outlets including FairPrice supermarkets, hypermarkets and finest will be contributed in addition to a S$100,000 donation from FairPrice Foundation to the initiative. Mr Chew Sutat, Chairman of Community Chest, said, “Through its annual Heartstrings Buy campaign, FairPrice Group has been able to rally its network partners to enable customers to give back to communities in need simply by making a purchase of participating products. Earlier this year, FairPrice Group announced the extension of its partnership with Community Chest for the Heartstrings Buy initiative till 2024. This is the fourth edition of the Heartstrings Buy initiative and have since contributed over S$800,000 towards Community Chest and its supported causes.
