SINGAPORE, 31 August 2017 – NTUC FairPrice (FairPrice) celebrates the 10th anniversary of FairPrice Finest. FairPrice Finest was set-up to provide consumers with a wide range of cosmopolitan and healthy products along with daily essentials that are affordably priced. Products sold at Finest are also uniformly priced across the entire stable of FairPrice’s supermarket retail formats and locations island-wide.

Mr Seah Kian Peng, CEO, NTUC FairPrice, said: “NTUC FairPrice is committed to making lives better for our customers and this is reflected through FairPrice Finest. This retail format brings the finer life closer to customers by offering a wider range of cosmopolitan products including specialty and healthy foods. At the same time, we continue to moderate the costs of essentials across all our different FairPrice formats. We appreciate the support of our customers as we continue to grow and serve Singaporeans with their daily grocery needs.”

FairPrice Finest has since expanded its network to include 22 stores located across Singapore and will focus on increasing its range of healthy foods.

Healthier food offerings at FairPrice Finest

Over the years, FairPrice Finest has catered to its customers changing needs; current demand points toward healthier food products. Sales for healthier rice including wholegrain rice at FairPrice Finest have doubled in 2016 compared to 2013, while sales for wholemeal bread rose by more than 80 per cent. Healthier Choice Symbol (HCS) oils such as Canola and Olive oil increased by more than 45 per cent over the same period.

These offerings are also reflected in FairPrice Finest’s selection of items, with more than 1,700 organic products available for customers to choose from – an increase of over 30 per cent in product range compared to three years ago. FairPrice Finest aims to further increase its range of organic and fresh produce by over 15 percent and 10 percent respectively over the next two years.

Mrs Bess Tan, 71, a customer at FairPrice Finest Bukit Timah Plaza since 2007, shared: “I visit FairPrice Finest two to three times a week, and find every trip there to be convenient, enjoyable and special. This store is distinctive and excellent in the wide range of quality, fresh and affordable produce it offers, complemented with a strong organic section and brown rice range to suit my lifestyle.”

Month-long Finest Festival

To commemorate the 10-year milestone, FairPrice Finest will hold a month-long Finest Festival, till 20 September 2017, to thank customers for their support, and offer exclusive promotions and discounts of up to 30 per cent.
