NTUC FairPrice raised more than $200,000 through its inaugural FairPrice Golf Charity at the Jurong Country Club today.

Organised in aid of Food from the Heart, the event sought to provide Food from the Heart the much needed fund to continue its worthy cause of distributing free bread and groceries to the destitute. NTUC FairPrice and Food from the Heart share a common vision in making a difference to the lives of the needy.

“The decision for FairPrice to support Food from the Heart is not a tough one to make, considering how both organizations shared a common background of having successfully transitioned from being purely a food provider to bringing joy and hope to the less fortunate,” says Mr Ng Ser Miang, Chairman of NTUC FairPrice.

FairPrice’s business partners – Colgate-Palmolive (Eastern) Pte Ltd, Kian Seng Fresh Produce Pte Ltd and Tian Sheng Fresh Produce Pte Ltd have also joined in to support Food from the Heart through this event by generously contributing $25,000 each as key sponsors. Many other business partners have also come forward to help by taking up flights and hole sponsorships.

“Indeed, it is a tremendous joy and a great privilege to be in a position to give. FairPrice’s founding mission of helping to moderate the cost of living in Singapore has set us apart as a retailer with a social role. We have fostered meaningful connections with our community and received, in return, strong support from our customers, members, business partners and associates,” concluded Mr Ng.
