• 28 stores will remain open for 24 hours on the eve of Lunar New Year to provide shoppers with convenient access to festive essentials

Singapore, 27 January 2021 – NTUC FairPrice today announced that 129 stores across the island will be kept open on the first day of Lunar New Year (LNY), while 28 stores will remain operating for 24 hours on the eve of LNY to allow shoppers to purchase daily necessities to usher in the festivities.

To allow shoppers to perform their last-minute grocery shopping, 121 stores and the FairPrice Mobile Truck will open till 5pm on the eve of Lunar New Year (11 Feb). Additionally, 28 stores will continue to operate at their usual 24 hours. On the second day of LNY (13 Feb), all 149 FairPrice stores and the FairPrice Mobile Truck will open as per usual operating hours.

Over the LNY period between 11 to 13 February, FairPrice Online will continue deliveries between 8am to 6pm. Regular delivery timings will resume on 14 February.

Precautionary Measures to Enhance Safety in Stores

Taking reference from the relevant authorities’ safe management protocols, FairPrice has put in place various precautionary measures to maintain a safe shopping environment at all FairPrice stores.

All staff have been issued with masks, to be worn during the course of their work, and hand sanitisers have been made available for use. Additionally, they also have their temperature taken at least twice a day.

This is complemented by other initiatives such as floor markings at checkout queues, broadcast announcements, and in-store posters to inform customers of our strict and stringent processes, as well as contact tracing efforts in compliance with the latest precautionary measures set by the authorities. FairPrice also maintains high-frequency cleaning regimes, especially for high-touch surfaces like railings, shelves, trolleys, baskets and checkout counters.
