Doing well in order to do good, supporting vulnerable communities through community engagement

Since it was established as FairPrice Group’s philanthropic arm in 2008, FairPrice Foundation has disbursed $120 million to charitable causes that support the poor and needy, worker welfare, and meaningful community engagement in Singapore.

As a corporate donor, FairPrice Group has also contributed $178 million to the Foundation in support of its mission.

Our Social Mission

FairPrice Foundation is focused on identifying and serving the needs of Singapore’s poor and needy, supporting worker welfare, and fostering meaningful community engagement to deepen community bonds and build a more inclusive society.

Helping to sustain the poor and needy in our community

As the philanthropic arm of Singapore’s largest retailer, FairPrice Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that the nation’s poor and needy have the daily essentials they need to get by. Its programmes and initiatives help to address challenges that vulnerable individuals and families face.

Supporting worker welfare

FairPrice Foundation is committed to supporting the welfare of vulnerable workers in Singapore across all industries, age groups, and backgrounds. It partners with social enterprises and organisations that are deeply rooted in the community, and have a keen understanding of the challenges that everyday Singaporeans face.

Deepening community bonds

FairPrice Foundation aims to strengthen community ties by funding programmes that give all in Singapore a reason to celebrate the bonds between them. Its community initiatives promote the values of kindness, togetherness, volunteerism, and generosity.

Our Leadership

FairPrice Foundation is led by a board of directors and management team that are deeply invested in FairPrice Group’s social mission of keeping daily essentials within reach for all in Singapore.

Board of Directors

Mr Kee Teck Koon

Chairman

Mr Kee Teck Koon is the Chairman of the NTUC FairPrice Foundation, FairPrice Group’s philanthropic arm. He is also the Chairman of NTUC Fairprice Co-operative Limited and Deputy Chairman of NTUC Enterprise Co-operative Limited, the holding company of Fairprice Group, NTUC First Campus, NTUC Health, Income Insurance Limited, NTUC LearningHub, and Mercatus.

He also holds directorships in Changi Airport Group, CapitaLand Investment Limited, Tangram Asia Capital LLP and Mandai Park Holdings Pte Ltd. He is a Board Advisor of Income Insurance Limited and a member of the Angsana Fund Investment Committee of the Singapore Labour Foundation.

Mr Kee was awarded the Public Service Star (BBM) by the Singapore Government and Meritorious Service Award by the National Trades Union Congress in 2021.

Mr Kee holds a Master of Arts in Engineering Science from Oxford University, UK.

Ms Lim Sau Hoong

Board Member

Ms Lim is the Independent Director of Multiwater Holdings Limited, Group Head for the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning, and Chairperson of the Chinese Development Assistance Council Stakeholders Communications Committee.

She previously served as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Creative Director of 10AM Communications Private Limited Singapore. She was also Chairperson for the Public Education Committee of the National Council for Problem Gambling, Chairperson for the Promote Mandarin Council, Vice Chairperson of the Singapore Note and Coin Advisory Committee, the Independent Director of the Board of Ascendas Reit, Member of the National Parks Board, Director of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra Board, Appointed Member of the Singapore50 Culture and Community Committee, Visual Advisor of the 2008 Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony and Chairperson of the Advisory Committee of Singapore Pavilion, 2010 World EXPO.

Ms Lim was appointed to the Board of Directors at FairPrice Group in 2016.

Mr Ong Hwee Liang

Board Member

Mr Ong is the Vice President of the NTUC Central Committee, the planning, policy, and executive organ of NTUC tasked with furthering NTUC’s objectives. He also chairs the Labour Movement’s Aerospace and Aviation Cluster, and serves as the General Secretary of the SIA Engineering Company Engineers and Executives Union, a post he has held since 2007.

Within the Labour Movement, Mr Ong chairs the NTUC Risk and Audit Committee and is the Chairman of the NTUC Workplace Safety and Health Committee. He is also a Member of the Workplace Safety and Health Council.

Mr Ong was appointed to the Board of Directors at FairPrice Group in 2020.

Mr Zulkifli Baharudin

Board Member

Mr Zulkifli Baharudin is the Executive Chairman of Indo-Trans Logistics Corporation, a logistics and supply chain company across Indo-China.

He is an Independent Director of GDS Holdings Ltd (PRC), Virtus Holdco Limited (UK), Omni Holdco LLC (USA), SymAsia Foundation Ltd, Asian Plantations Ltd, STT GDC Indonesia JVCo Pte Ltd and PT STT GDC Indonesia. He is currently Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

He was appointed as Singapore’s Justice of Peace in September 2020. He also served as a Nominated Member of Parliament from October 1997 to September 2001, and was awarded the Public Service Medal in 2005 and Public Service Star Medal in 2011. He obtained a Bachelor of Science from the National University of Singapore.

Ms Baharudin was appointed to the Board of Directors at FairPrice Group in 2023.

Management Team

Ms Jean Khong

General Manager

Ms Khong was appointed the General Manager of FairPrice Foundation in April 2024. She is also the Head of Group Strategic Communications at FairPrice Group.

Ms Khong oversees the Foundation’s initiatives to ensure that they resonate with and contribute meaningfully to FairPrice Group’s social mission to keep daily essentials within reach for all in Singapore.

She brings with her close to two decades of experience in integrated communications from the banking industry, with a proven track record of strategic leadership in aligning an organisation’s mission and values. She holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Queensland.

Mr Daniel Chea

Chief Financial Officer

Daniel Chea was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer of FairPrice Foundation in January 2024. He has been with FairPrice Group since 2019, where he currently serves as Director and Head of Corporate Control. Prior to that, he was the Head of Finance, Strategy, and Analytics for FairPrice Group’s e-commerce business.

Mr Chea has extensive experience in finance and consulting. He was previously the CFO of a local conglomerate in the food vertical, and spent more than 9 years as a Management Consultant in Singapore and London. He holds a Master of Business Administration from The University Of Chicago, Booth School Of Business. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Sydney and is a member of CPA Australia.
